Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam
Film - City - Architecture
AFFR – the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam – is the ultimate film festival for everybody involved in the city, architecture and the built environment. The festival programmes a wide selection of documentaries and feature films – from architects’ portraits to film classics, from shorts about the city to documentaries that examine broader social themes. Films at AFFR are accompanied by introductions and discussions that offer depth, spark debate and offer visitors fresh perspectives.
This makes AFFR interesting not only for architects, city makers and filmfans alike. What’s more, AFFR is for everybody who feels committed to discussions about housing, quality of life, the climate, politics and the city. For the festival concerns something that affects all of us every day: the world designed by people.
AFFR 25 Years!
The first initiative for AFFR – then the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam – began in 2000. That’s why, this year, we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary in grand style. We’re not just looking back but also looking ahead, with retrospectives, debates, classics, immersive media, current issues, and a revamped website.
This year’s festival takes place on 8–12 October, at LantarenVenster and Theater Rotterdam/Schouwburg – and at various venues in Rotterdam and elsewhere throughout the year.
