In Rotterdam West and Northwest, between highways, railway lines and waterways, lies a beautiful raw landscape. Full of green, full of life; an alternation of peace and bustle. At first glance at the map an insignificant part of Rotterdam.

But if you zoom in you see a valuable ‘blue-green lung’ that connects the Nieuwe Maas with the polders. We call this area Stadspark West, which is already so important to many thousands of Rotterdammers thanks to its surprising nature.

Stadspark West is not a demarcated, raked park as we usually imagine. It is formed by a series of grounds of allotment associations, sports clubs and scouting. Of marinas, a disc golf course and bike park, playgrounds for people and dogs, the city camping site and hotels. Of city parks, nature trails, swimming water, wide verges and much, much more.

Celebrating Midsummer in Stadspark West and the Green Connection
During the Midsummer weekend around June 21, associations and initiatives annually throw their gates and fences wide open and, together with formal and informal clubs, showcase ‘what they have to offer’. We frame this with cultural, culinary, and sporting extras in an accessible program. Through guided walks and workshops, you can discover the beauty and diversity and deepen your knowledge. In this way, Stadspark West shows what it is worth. The program can be found on the Stadspark West website starting mid-June.
