The Food Garden Rotterdam has existed for 15 years and forms the green heart of the Keilekwartier. On these 7,000 square metres, vegetables and herbs are grown ecologically by a large and committed community of volunteers. The harvest is delivered weekly to the Food Bank shop in Delfshaven, making healthy food accessible to people on a limited budget.

At the same time, the garden offers space for volunteers who find community, a meaningful way to spend their day, and/or recovery there. Every weekday morning, people work and have lunch together; in addition, workshops and shared meals are organised to share the values of a green outdoor space and healthy local food with a wider group of residents and visitors.
