Programme outside Rotterdam

Outside Rotterdam there is also plenty to do around architecture and the future of the city. Therefore we highlight some programmes you can visit during Rotterdam Architecture Month in other places in the Netherlands.

June 11 to 14: Arnhem Architecture Film Festival & Day of Architecture

From June 11 to 14, the Arnhem Architecture Film Festival will be held at Focus Filmtheater. Stichting Dag van de Architectuur Arnhem will discuss the themes surrounding urban development and the role of residents in it with speakers in interesting films.

During the Day of Architecture on Saturday, June 14, the Spijkerkwartier will take center stage under the theme ‘VerSpykerd’. With tours through the eyes of architects, ecologists, landscape architects, planners and residents.

June 14: Day of Architecture Amersfoort

In Amersfoort, FASadE will give substance to the national theme of the Day of Architecture “in transition” by addressing the current dynamics of military heritage. The highlight of the day is the launch of the new architecture map the Militour, which provides an overview of military heritage in Amersfoort, Soest, Soesterberg and Leusden, from 1839 to the present.

In the morning, visitors can participate in an inspiring bicycle tour of some of these special locations. In the afternoon there will be an in-depth discussion about the meaning and future of military heritage in the region.

June 20 & 21: Day of Architecture & Day of Construction Eindhoven

On Friday, June 20, Eindhoven celebrates the Day of Architecture with the theme “in transition”. Visit high-rise buildings around the station and Fellenoord or take a tour of the changing cityscape. In the evening, you can watch the documentary The World According to Carel Weeber, followed by an discussion with director Jord den Hollander. Saturday, June 21, on Day of Construction, special architectural projects in the city open their doors.

June 5, 14 & 17: Day of Architecture Zoetermeer

Architectuurpunt Zoetermeer is organizing a three-day program around the national theme of the Day of Architecture: ‘in transition’. We start on Thursday evening, June 5, with an event dedicated to Carel Weeber. Through a combination of film and discussion, filmmaker Jord den Hollander and author Wouter Vanstiphout will explore the architect’s work and vision. Saturday, June 14, offers a variety of guided tours for all ages, inviting participants to discover the city from new perspectives. The series ends on Tuesday evening, June 17, with a City Lecture on Zoetermeer in Transition. What lies ahead for the city—and what role will spatial designers play in shaping that future?
