Biking tour Overschie
Post war art and architecture from CS to Overschie
In this surprising bike tour reconstruction expert and architect Paul Groenendijk shows fascinating art and architecture on the route from Central Station to Overschie.
Overschie is a district known as the birthplace of system construction and is, as it were, a time machine that takes us back to the progress ideals of the 1950s. In addition to the Baumann Church, which has been transformed into homes, and the many system buildings in Overschie, there is a lot of art in the public space. Both contemporary and reconstruction art adorn Overschie. Unfortunately, the route also makes it clear that many works require some maintenance. Time to put a spotlight on Overschie!
During each stop, Paul tells you more about the (reconstruction) architecture and works of art also you will have time to take pictures. In addition to well-known buildings such as Diergaarde Blijdorp and Kleinpolderplein, you will come across lesser known buildings and works of art that characterize Overschie.
