BRUG is a multi-disciplinairy performance about city planning, the Erasmusbrug and gentrification, about the personality of this city. City building, music and live animation all come together in this surprising performance from artist duo de Transmissie.

Two city builders (Schwarz and Stenvers) take you along through the history and future of Rotterdam. How is a city built? For BRUG, de Transmissie spoke with many well-known Rotterdam city planners and “bridge-builders”, like Riek Bakker, Sanne van Manen and Tom van Geest. Their voices and stories enter into dialogue as they guide you through the journey of Rotterdam as an ever-transforming city. This city is always changing, but for whom? And how many more skyscrapers can this city support?

Using model building, live-animation, film and audio fragments, de Transmissie brings the city to life in front of your eyes in a playful way.

A performance for everybody who is interested in urban planning, gentrification or who feels connected to Rotterdam.
