From zoo to nature restoration

Blijdorp provides visitors with the natural habitats of animal species and offers information about biodiversity conservation. If we do nothing, species will disappear, which is why Diergaarde Blijdorp is committed to nature restoration. We describe the urgency and solution direction in four guiding principles: Stop the Loss, Reverse the Red, Brighten the Blue, and Expand the Green. Species conservation and nature restoration go hand in hand, so these two together form our strategy. “Together we bring nature back to life.”
