Rotterdam WeatherWise (Rotterdams WeerWoord) is the City of Rotterdam’s climate adaptation programme, bringing together residents, businesses, community organisations and public authorities to prepare the city for more extreme weather. As climate change leads to heavier rainfall, longer periods of drought and more frequent heatwaves, the programme supports practical solutions that make Rotterdam greener, cooler and more resilient. Through initiatives such as the Dutch National Tile-Wipping Championship (NK Tegelwippen), the Tile Taxi service, climate-adaptive schoolyards and neighbourhood greening projects, Rotterdam WeatherWise helps people take action and contribute to a city that remains safe, healthy and enjoyable to live in for future generations.
