Meet the five young and talented Ukrainian designers from the UNUN initiative (Ukraine the Netherlands Urban Network) exhibiting their inspiring projects for the reconstruction of their country in the pop-up exhibition Re(dis)covering Ukraine.

Urban planning, (mobile) housing, transforming libraries and new uses of old Soviet buildings are part of the exhibition, in addition to an artisanal photo-reportage. With the exhibition, the designers hope to promote intercultural cooperation between Dutch and Ukrainian architects and designers on pressing issues in their country. After the presentation, you are invited to engage in conversation with the designers for the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Flokk 5III Sustainable Design principles

As part of this knowledge event, Flokk presents the 5III Circular Design Principles for designing and selecting sustainable offfice seating furniture. In the Design Center circular novelties as well as icons in the field of office (soft) seating and acoustics of brands such as Offecct and Profim are shown.

The Flokk Design Center is located at Blaak 28; a building with a rich history, which was one of the first in the reconstruction of Rotterdam after World War II, realized by architect Ad van der Steur. This history makes it extra special to offer the 5 Ukrainian projects here the platform to exhibit and to share knowledge.

The designers and researchers in this exhibition are part of the UNUN initiative (Ukraine the Netherlands Urban Network), a growing community of Ukrainians in the Netherlands, Dutch organizations in the field of architecture and spatial planning and other spatial professionals who have joined forces to exchange knowledge as part of the reconstruction of Ukraine.
