Architectecture walk with Winy Maas
Discover Rotterdam through the eyes of an architect
Discover Rotterdam through the eyes of Architect Winy Maas (MVRDV). In this walking tour starting from Tramhuis, Winy Maas takes you along places in the city that hold special meaning for him – from iconic buildings to hidden stories.
Later this year, Stichting Tramhuis will open the Tramhuis at Eendrachtsplein as a kiosk for city walks. Especially for the Rotterdam Architecture Month, the architecture walk is being launched early. Starting June 1st, the walk will be available as a podwalk in the Tramhuis app. This is an audio tour that you follow while walking through the city with your earphones, and the story plays automatically when you reach the right location.
In the podwalk, Winy guides listeners past striking buildings and places that matter to him. But he also invites you to truly observe the city. How did Rotterdam become what it is today? And how can it continue to grow?
The Tramhuis app will be available in the app store starting June 1st. Walk the architecture route and discover the city through Winy’s eyes.
You can also follow the route using the Tramhuis route booklet. It tells the same story, including a fold-out map, and is perfect for those who prefer reading over listening. It will be available at the Bookshop located in the festival hub of Rotterdam Architecture Month.
