Time to Talk – Architecture in the Netherlands
Launch Yearbook 2021 / 2022
On Tuesday evening 24 May, nai010 publishers in collaboration with AIR will present: Time to Talk – the launch of Architecture in the Netherlands Yearbook 2021 / 2022 in Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Festival Heart of the Rotterdam Architecture Month ’22
The editors of the Yearbook, Teun van den Ende, Uri Gilad and Arna Mačkić, identify trends and developments in architecture and offer an overview of the most remarkable and leading buildings.
Change of direction
In this 35th edition of the yearbook, the editors signaled a change of direction in the architectural practice and decided to discuss this with architects, clients and spectators. Colleagues were asked to shed light on a variety of topics that emerged from the many submitted projects. Such as the autonomy of the designer, which has come under pressure from the current emphasis on financial feasibility, or the need to meet social and environmental challenges.
The editors, led by Saskia van Stein, will discuss the selected projects and subjects under the overarching theme ‘Time to talk’, with Floris Alkemade, Ninke Happel, Afaina de Jong, Karin Laglas, Marjolein van Eig, Do Janne Vermeulen and others.
