Atelier Leeuwenstraat

Atelier Leeuwenstraat is home to the collective work of four young studios. The Atelier brings architecture, landscape architecture and installation design together with a focus on urgent spatial and social issues. Come and visit the newly established Atelier Leeuwenstraat!

Studio Inscape – Eileen Stornebrink and Willie Vogel

Studio Inscape is a research-oriented design practice from Rotterdam founded by Eileen Stornebrink and Willie Vogel. With a background in architecture at TU Delft, they work from an interest in philosophy and ecology. They work in a transdisciplinary manner at the intersection of research, spatial strategies, experience, installations and architecture.

Sylva – Jean-François Gauthier

Jean-François Gauthier (1988) is a landscape architect and founder of SYLVA Landscape Architecture & Urban Forestry. His practice straddles the line between a fascination with forest ecological systems and artistic experiments. Using various drawing techniques, he wants to visualize what a forest could look like in the public domain. He graduated from the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam with a Master’s degree in landscape architecture. In his graduation project entitled ‘Trees First’ he conducted research into the system and the possibilities of ‘urban forest’; focused on trees in the city as a starting point for a better design of public space. At SYLVA he works with a flexible collective of participants to tailor solutions for each project, from design and participation, to realization and maintenance of urban forests.

Setareh Noorani – Setareh Noorani

Setareh Noorani is an architect, researcher and curator at the Nieuwe Instituut, and independent artist. Noorani’s spatial and architectural designs emphasize her ongoing research into (institutional) spaces for collective appropriation, focusing on underexposed voices. The designed spaces challenge contemporary value systems associated with art/architectural production, and use a specific visual language that goes against the ‘white cube’. Clients include Metro54, Amsterdam Museum, Buro Stedelijk, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Dutch Design Embassies.

Studio Sifra – Danique Landburg en Eileen Stornebrink

Studio Sifra is a start-up design practice that celebrates culture, diversity and social interaction within the disciplines of architecture and design. Founded by Danique Landburg and Eileen Stornebrink in the summer of 2021, one year after graduating from Delft University of Technology, the practice focuses on design, architecture and spatial strategies. With projects in the Netherlands, the Caribbean, North and South America, Sifra sees diversity, culture and social interaction as an enrichment for the field.
