Booklaunch LIVING CITIES
with Matthew Skjonsberg and Adriaan Geuze
Discover how park design makes cities liveable: in the past, present and future. Prof. Adriaan Geuze and Dr. Matthew Skjonsberg launch the book Living Cities: Three Centuries of Park Systems, and share their vision on green structures, hidden rivers and urban identity.
Prof. ir Adriaan Geuze will speak on ‘Metropolitan Green Structure: Identity and Quality by Design’ and Dr. Matthew Skjonsberg will talk on ‘Living Cities, Hidden Rivers, and Ghost Writers’. Together they will launch the book ‘Living Cities: Three Centuries of Park Systems’ – which also features a series of West 8 projects, including ‘The Garden of 10,000 Bridges’ (Xian, China, 2011), ‘Paradiso Nascosto: Second Nature’ (MAXXI, Rome, 2010-16), ‘Governors Island’ (2007-present),’ ‘Madrid Rio’ (2006-2010), ‘Yongsan National Park’ (2012-present).
An introduction of the book with drinks will be held at 15:00 at Het Niewe Instituut in Rotterdam in Room 1.
