Workshop

Circulair Construction Village

On 20 and 21 June, children will work together to build a temporary village using reclaimed materials during the Circular Construction Village.

The programme is organised by Stichting Mano, Buurman Rotterdam, Archiklas and Rotterdam Architecture Month at Test Site Materialenwerf in the Keilekwartier. Each day, around 30 children from the Silja  will participate alongside children from the surrounding neighbourhoods and festival visitors.

What will we do?

During the Building Village, children will discover how architecture and cities are created through play. Using reclaimed timber and other reused materials, they will design and build a village of huts, streets and gathering spaces together. At the end of each day, the village will be carefully dismantled and the materials sorted for reuse. In this way, participants experience how design, collaboration and circular building go hand in hand.
