Circular meet-up #4: new networks
Cultural shifts and shared knowledge
Circular building practices already exist in many places, but they often work in isolation. The real potential lies in connecting them, sharing knowledge, and transforming the larger industry. This meet-up is about making those connections.
About the meet-up
The Rotterdam Architecture Month 2026 explores how circularity is not only a technical question but also a social and cultural matter. This meet-up explores how new ways of sourcing and sharing materials come into being, from bio-based and earth-based materials to reclaimed building components, and what role designers, institutions and local governments can play.
A few experts working on this from different positions will share their perspectives in a panel, after which we open up the conversation to all participants. Central questions are:
- What networks do we actually need for a large-scale resource ecosystem? Who should take part and at which scale?
- How do you link local knowledge and small-scale practices to larger networks?
- Who needs to be at the table to make new material networks actually work?
This session will be in English.
