City nature tour Museum Garden

You might not expect it, but there is a lot of nature in the city. Also in Museumpark. During Rotterdam Architecture Month, city ecologist Iris Beijeman would like to take you on a tour through Museumpark and show you what lives and grows in this special space of greenery in the city.

The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is currently being thoroughly renovated. As part of this renovation, the municipality of Rotterdam is also preparing to renovate the museum garden, located behind the museum building. In anticipation of the renovation, research has been conducted into the (protected) animal and plant species that live in and around the building and in the garden. During the tour, Iris Beijeman will explain how the municipality ensures that protected animal species have a home in the area during and after the renovation work. Various ecological measures have already been taken in the area to maintain the quality of the living environment for the animals. Iris is happy to tell you all about it!

Starting point: the big square in front of the Depot (Boijmans Van Beuningen)
