Day conference: the power of community

All across the Netherlands, communities experimenting under the radar with initiatives working toward a different future. How do these collectives work? That question is at the heart of this day conference.

Background

The Netherlands faces major challenges around circularity, energy, mobility, nature, food, work, and housing. More and more communities are tackling these issues from the ground up. Rather than waiting for policy, they act out of social necessity and imagination. During this day conference, people with first-hand experience discuss how grassroots initiatives build themselves up. Questions that will guide the conversation include:

  • How do you collaborate effectively with government and market parties?
  • How does a community initiative contribute to a local economy?
  • How do you connect short-term action to long-term goals?
  • How do you handle finances and legal matters?

A relevant day for communities to learn from each other’s strengths and vulnerabilities.
