Nature-inclusive living: Little C
The story behind this concrete jungle
Join Juurlink & Geluk and National Park Rotterdam on an excursion through the concrete jungle of the now famous Little C residential project.
This urban ensemble of 15 residential and work buildings is visited every week by designers and students from everywhere. The architecture is striking and appealing, and the added greenery also plays an important role in this. The area surrounding the building block was also included in the area development and was baptized the Tuschinski Park. This park has become a bio-diverse landscape where it is pleasant for people and animals.
The outdoor space of Little C was designed by urban planning & landscape design agency Juurlink & Geluk, who, after completing Little C, also moved into one of the office spaces in the plinth. Cor Geluk will provide this tour, in collaboration with a Ranger from Rotterdam National Park.
During this excursion we zoom in on
- The green outdoor space of Little C
- The design choices that were made and the lessons that emerged from them
- The roof gardens & rainwater buffers below street level
- The design & management of the surrounding Tuschinski Park
We end with a drink at Kula.
