Kick-off THINK NOW Rotterdam Think Tank
What will Rotterdam look like in 2040? What solutions are needed to create a resilient, sustainable, inclusive, and future-proof city?
During this interactive kick-off event, young people, facilitators, experts, and societal partners come together to launch the THINK NOW Rotterdam Think Tank programme. An inspiring afternoon focused on connection, collaboration, and exploring the challenges and opportunities that will shape the city of tomorrow.
Throughout the programme, participants will work alongside professionals from fields such as architecture, urban planning, climate adaptation, energy, mobility, health, and education to develop innovative ideas and solutions for real-world challenges.
During this event participants will:

• Discover key challenges and opportunities for Rotterdam

• Become part of a community of young changemakers
• Take the first step towards meaningful impact projects
THINK NOW Foundation believes that young people should not only inherit the future, but actively help shape it. By bringing together generations, sectors, and perspectives, we create space for collaboration, innovation, and positive change.
This event marks the official launch of the Rotterdam Think Tank programme and is part of Rotterdam Architecture Month.
Speaker
General (Ret.) Tom Middendorp is the former Chief of Defence of the Netherlands and an internationally recognised expert on security, climate change and societal resilience. Through his work, including the book Climate General, he demonstrates how climate change, resource scarcity and geopolitical developments are closely connected to the future security and stability of our societies. He actively promotes sustainable innovation and helps governments, organisations and young people develop long-term perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of the future.
