About Paul-Emmanuel Loiret

Paul-Emmanuel Loiret is a French architect, researcher, and educator whose work focuses on ecological architecture, material reuse, and the use of local bio-based and geo-based resources. Co-founder of the Paris-based practice Joly & Loiret (2007–2021), he gained international recognition for projects that combine architectural innovation with low-carbon construction methods, particularly through the use of earth, timber, and stone.

Loiret is notably associated with Cycle Terre, a pioneering initiative that transforms excavated soil from the Greater Paris region into construction materials, contributing to the development of circular and local building economies. Alongside his professional practice, he has taught extensively and is currently a professor at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Val de Seine.

Through his research, teaching, and built work, Paul-Emmanuel Loiret has become a leading voice in the fields of circular construction, regenerative design, and the ecological transition of architecture.
