For some years now, MVRDV’s office has been housed in the Industriegebouw, which was designed by architect Hugh Maaskant. Especially for Rotterdam Architecture Month, the office will open its doors to the public on Saturday 25 June. Between 13:00 and 15:00 , visitors can take a tour of the office, view models and projects and speak to architects about their work.

MVRDV was founded in 1993 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs, and Nathalie de Vries. With 350 architects, designers, and other staff based in Rotterdam, Shanghai, Paris, and Berlin, MVRDV engages globally in providing solutions to contemporary architectural and urban issues. A research-based and highly collaborative design method engages experts from all fields, clients, and stakeholders in the creative process. The results are exemplary and outspoken buildings, urban plans, studies, and objects, which enable our cities and landscapes to develop towards a better future.

About the Open Studio Day

Rotterdam is an important breeding ground for both young and established design firms. Together they work on a wide range of complex local, national, and international spatial issues. To introduce you to innovations, experiment and renewal in design practice, more than 20 design and architecture firms will open their doors on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
