Exhibition: Coolhaven, From Van Schoonderloo to Little C
During the Opbouwdagen from May 15 to 18, you can explore the post-war reconstruction architecture of Rotterdam. The festival also marks the opening of the exhibition Coolhaven, From Van Schoonderloo to Little C. This exhibition about the history of the Coolhaven district can be visited until June 14 at the Danish Seamen’s Church.
This year, the festival revolves around the theme: “Rotterdam, a safe harbor? Then and now. From a mooring place for ships to safe places to stay.” During the Opbouwdagen weekend, you can join various guided tours showcasing reconstruction art and architecture. You can also take part in the new tower experience at the Laurenskerk: 365 steps through time. Over the weekend in May, two lectures will take place at Museum Rotterdam. Paul Groenendijk will speak about the history of the Coolhaven district, and there will also be a lecture on the history of the many seamen’s churches in Rotterdam.
