R’dam Day: Lecture Suze Peters

Four Sundays in June, the festival heart of the Rotterdam Architecture Month is dedicated to the Rotterdam Days. On these afternoons there are all kinds of activities in the Museumpark for young and old. Listen to the lecture by Suze Peters at the Henket-paviljoen on Sunday, June 9.

Pests in the garden; from trampling to coddling

The newspapers are full of how bad things are going for nature and biodiversity. So if you no longer want to use chemical powder or herbicide spray to control weeds and pests; then what? How do you garden without poison? Suze Peters wrote a book about it; The Pest Book. An educational and practical guide starring all ‘troublesome garden creatures’, such as aphids, ants, snails, wasps, caterpillars, moles and rats. Why are they there and what do they say about your garden? By better understanding their role in the garden, you’ll realize just how useful and functional these pests really are. They are all part of the great ‘garden web’.

On Sunday, June 9, Suze Peters will give a short lecture about how this garden web works and how you can get started with it in your own garden. The lecture will take place in the Henket Pavilion, registration is not required.

How to get there

The Henket pavilion is located in the southern wing of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, adjacent to the Museum Garden. The entrance can be found on the side of the Museum, located on the Melkkoppad. The entrance can be recognized by a large Rotterdam Architecture Month sign.
