From the nineteenth century onward, the Rijnhaven was a bustling port in the city for many years, with a constant flow of ships and goods. Traces of this history are still visible today in the eclectic mix of silos and warehouses. At the same time, the area is undergoing major transformation, with new housing, work and study spaces, and cultural venues emerging.
