Scenes in Stadspark West
Midsummerwalks and symposium

On Saturday, June 22, Stadspark West in collaboration with AIR, is organizing an expedition and symposium in one. During this special occasion you will join us on a discovery into the creation of versatile places, such as Stadspark West.
The expedition is intended as an introduction to Stadspark West, an area that you may already know, but not previously discovered in this way. As a participant you will visit various parks, allotments, sports fields and recreational areas that together form Stadspark West. Knowledge will be shared and ideas will be exchanged along the way through presentations and discussions. During the walk you will see the value of the area, social and ecological networks will be strengthened and the future of Stadspark West will be considered.
In addition, you will be introduced to the research of students from four renowned educational institutions, including TU Delft, HKU, Rotterdam Academy of Architecture and RWTH Aachen University.
During this expedition, there is room for reactions and conversations from those directly involved, like you. Experts will reflect on these findings and put a current question on the agenda: How can Stadspark West play a role in the nature-inclusive city that we desperately need, especially in Rotterdam?
This ‘scenographic’ working method and the physical intersection of the Stadspark West case makes the questions topical and personal. Take this unique opportunity to participate in this Exposium and work on the future of Stadspark West.
