On Sunday, June 9, 2024, writer Kim Longwood and illustrator Jess de Troije will organise the fifth edition of TEKENTAAL: writing & drawing workshops in Leeszaal Rotterdam West.

What does that mean?
During the first half of the workshop you will write poems with a visual approach, i.e. poems that evoke images. In the second half of the workshop you will draw, or make illustrations that enhance the poem.

Why is that a fun thing to do?
Kim and Jess guarantee a creative environment where everyone is free to express themselves. There is no right or wrong, only what you want to say and show. Shape your voice under the guidance of these creative people!

During the workshop you will learn to write visual poetry and draw complementary illustrations.

The workshop duration is 5 hours and includes lunch.

Arrival: between 11:45 and 12:00.
Start workshop/introduction: 12:00.
First part of the workshop: 12:30 to 14:30.
Lunch break: 14:30 to 15:00.
Second part of the workshop: 15:00 to 17:00.

Dutch and English speaking: everyone is welcome!

Writing and drawing materials are provided, as well as snacks and drinks. Please indicate any allergies or dietary requirements when signing up.
