Workshop
Workshop: A Rijnmond Earth Center
This workshop explores the Rijnmond Earth Center as a prototype for a regional infrastructure dedicated to earth-based building materials and construction techniques.
Conceived as a place for knowledge sharing, production, and experimentation, it aims to support the building sector in developing expertise around earth construction.
The workshop will investigate how material flows can be mapped, governed, and activated through spatial design, linking extraction, production, storage, and circular value chains. Through presentations and collective discussion, it will address the role of such a facility at regional and national scales—its programme, governance, and potential impact—building on existing case studies and precedents such as Cycle Terre, as well as ongoing research into its network and implementation.
