Workshop
Workshopday at the Materialenwerf
Make it circulair!
Experiment with transforming cable trays into interior objects, discover how local soil can turn into building material, or make a new belt from used fire hoses. From small design accessories to building blocks for the future: at the Workshop Day, you will learn how to breathe new life into used and sometimes discarded materials.
Visit the Test Site Materialenwerf and participate in one of the following workshops:

Workshop: Making Belts from Fire Hoses
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM / Registration link coming soon
Fire hoses that once saved lives are given a second life at Eversom as unique design objects. During this active workshop, you’ll discover how discarded materials can become valuable resources. Time to roll up your sleeves: you’ll make your own circular, vegan belt from old fire hoses. You’ll cut, wash, punch, and assemble the material — with Ilse Evers guiding you step by step through the process.
Weave, Reclaim! Workshop by Namelok
2:30 PM – 5:30 PM / Participation is free. You can register in advance or simply join on the day itself. Registration link coming soon
Waste as a raw material for shared space? During Weave, Reclaim! you’ll learn how to weave using plastic bags, leftover materials, and/or construction waste. Together with other participants, you’ll create a collective canopy that will reappear during the closing drinks of Open Office Day, in one of Rotterdam’s smallest streets.
Want to roll up your sleeves even more? Then you can also join the Workshop Day on June 20.
