Come and meet us during the Open Office Day:

Evelien van Es is an architectural historian and  researches the design and use history of areas and buildings. Architecture and urban planning are always central to my research; whether I am mapping the cultural-historical value of a municipal monument file or making a specialist contribution to a multidisciplinary research project.

Lara Voerman is an architectural historian. With history as a starting point, she advises governments, developers and design agencies on the future of a landscape, a neighborhood or a building.

As an architect-researcher, Johanna van Doorn specializes in the translation between cultural history, analysis and design. She advises and supports governments, designers and developers with well-founded and careful advice on conservation, development and transformation of buildings and areas. In addition to her work as an advisor and researcher, she is also a member of the Welfare and Monuments Committee in Rotterdam and the quality teams for Feyenoord City and the Rotterdam Port Authority. She is also a practical lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft and a guest lecturer at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam.

Joost Emmerik is a garden and landscape architect. Joost searches for a serene simplicity, where clear lines, robust materials and lush plants are combined into places that become more exuberant over time. Joost is head of the Master’s program in Landscape Architecture at the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam, a guest lecturer at Delft University of Technology and the Academy of Architecture Rotterdam and is a member of the Talent Development Committee of the Creative Industries Fund NL.

Kesp Architectuur was founded in 2015 by Karen Schuijt. A kesp is part of the foundation of a building. It has to be good, otherwise things will go wrong. A kesp can differ per city and time period. Short or long, transverse or parallel, concrete or wood. For Karen, the foundation for any collaboration is essential. This is reflected in the approach to the projects, building communities and teaching design skills to children. In addition to Kesp Architecuur, Karen works with initiatives such as Archiklas and Buurtklimaatje towards a greener, more social and more creative future.

el KANTOOR is an architectural firm led by Isabel Driessen and Andrés López that approaches design and research from the user perspective. The field of work includes projects on different scales, ranging from furniture, interior, architecture to urban development. They invite people of every age and background to think, design and build in their projects by integrating workshops, conversations and model building in a co-creative design process.
