Visitor information festival heart
In June Rotterdam Architecture Month takes place in Schiemond. Come visit our festival heart at Schiehaven 17, and discover a piece of quay that was abandoned and not to be visited for a long time. In collaboration with our partners it is now a vibrant festival heart where all kinds of activities take place.

The festival hub is open to the public free of charge.
Accessibility
The festival heart of the RA Month can be visited at Schiehaven 17 via two entrances, both by stairs and the ground floor. Please note that the quay does not have a flat surface and is located directly on the water.
Children under 12 are welcome, but only under adult supervision. Due to the unsecured quay directly on the water, children should always stay on the building side of the quay and not on the waterfront.

Walking & biking
Schiehaven 17 is located approximately 15 minutes by bike from Rotterdam Central Station. Don’t have a bike? You can rent a bike with an OV-fiets subscription. There are also a number of bike rental companies near Central Station, such as ZwaanBikes. Park your bike in the designated places on the quay.
From Rotterdam CS it is approximately a 45-minute walk to the festival heart.
Metro
Metro lines A, B and C stop at Delfshaven and Coolhaven, these are the nearest metro stops. From these stops it is +/- 20 minutes walk to the quay.
Are you coming by metro from Rotterdam CS? Then you can transfer via line D and E (towards Slinge) at metro stop Beurs to line A, B or C towards Schiedam Centrum.
Car
Paid parking applies in the vicinity of the festival heart from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM at €2.16 per hour (zone 580) and €3.12 per hour (zones 540 and 560). View times and prices for surrounding areas here.
Tram
Tram line 8 towards Spangen departs from Rotterdam CS, and stops at the nearest stops Oostkousdijk and Schiemond. From there it is +/- 7 minutes walk to Schiehaven 17.
Watertaxi
The Rotterdam water taxi stops near the festival heart: stop 75, Delfshaven. From there it is a 5 minute walk. Check watertaxirotterdam.nl for more information.
Bus
The nearest bus stop is Dijkzigt (from Rotterdam CS bus 44 towards Zuidplein). From there it is a 24 minute walk to the festival heart. Tram and water taxi stop closer.
Toegankelijkheid
- The festival heart can be entered in two ways. Via the ground floor (Entrance 1) and via the stairs (Entrance 2). Both entrances are located at Schiehaven 17.
- Please note that the quay is directly on the water.
- The quay of the Schiehaven is largely easy to walk on. It has various types of surfaces, from concrete slabs to tiles that can be uneven here and there.
- Some interventions are not accessible for prams, wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties. This concerns De Maaskijker and the stairs over the wall (Entrance 2).
- We recommend that people with walking difficulties bring a support person who is able to walk well.
- Wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties can use Entrance 1, which is also the entrance to the exhibition.

By entering the festival heart you agree to the house rules:
- Entering the festival heart is at your own risk.
- Always follow the instructions of the organization.
- Children under 12 are welcome, but only under adult supervision. Due to the unsecured quay directly on the water, children should always stay on the building side of the quay and not on the waterfront.
- It is not permitted to climb on or over the edges of temporary structures.
- We advise to enter the festival heart with flat shoes. No heels.
- Smoking, electronic cigarettes and vapes are not allowed during your visit.
- The consumption of alcohol and the use of drugs is not permitted before or during your visit.
- Pets are allowed, provided they do not disturb public order.
- We request that you deposit your waste in the designated bins.
- Toilets can be visited in the Schiehavenhallen.
