Neighborhood Day
Join us for the special neighborhood day in the festival heart! It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and explore the walking route with workshops, dance clinics, freerun demonstrations and more.
By walking the route, you can get a sneak peek into the future of the region. The route will take you through the three enormous barges, each measuring 76 meters in length and 11 meters in width. Along the way, you get an insight into the significance of water in the future of the city. You can also witness some impressive moves by freerunners and skaters in the urban sports barge, get some snacks or enjoy the music and dance clinics.
In a few years, the festival heart area will be transformed into a brand new city park – the Nelson Mandela Park. Experience the feel of the park even before its official opening. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore and enjoy the neighborhood with your fellow residents.

Practical information
- For residents living in Zuid, the floating festival heart of the Rotterdam Architecture Month is free to visit between 13:00 and 17:00. Reserve your time slot via the ticket link or show the flyer at the entrance.
- You can reserve a ticket on one of four time slots: 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 & 16:00. This way we can ensure that there are not too many people on the boats at the same time. Of course, if capacity allows, you may stay longer than your chosen time slot.
- The festival center consists of three large floating barges that you can only enter and visit via several stairways. The total route has nearly 300 steps, so the festival heart is less suitable for people with mobility problems and is not wheelchair accessible. Read more practical information about your visit in the festival heart visitor information or in the FAQ.
