Studio for New Realities
Studio for New Realities is a studio for strategic urban development, architecture and consultancy. We work consciously at the same time on large and small scale projects: urban design, architecture, creating communities, living and working environments and public space. We develop clear concepts, enticing and relevant visions and powerful designs, using a radical-pragmatic approach and easy design – pleasant, human, pragmatic and low-tech. The core of our approach is the combination of hardware + software + orgware. A layered package of spatial, programmatic and socio-economic interventions, to arrive at a working system and a development with impact. We deliver specific services and products from various roles and for various tasks, for which we work closely with specialists.
On the Open Studio Day we invite you to our studio to meet the team and to proudly show you what we are currently working on. Feel free to walk in or listen in with a short explanation about our working method.

At 13.30, 14.00, and 14.30 hrs, Jeroen Zuidgeest gives a short explanation (15 minutes) about the principles from which we work and how they translate into our current projects. Sign up for a timeslot via studio@newrealities.eu.
About the Open Studio Day
Rotterdam is an important breeding ground for both young and established design firms. Together they work on a wide range of complex local, national, and international spatial issues. To introduce you to innovations, experiment and renewal in design practice, more than 20 design and architecture firms will open their doors on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

Speaker
Jeroen is an architect and strategic urban development consultant. He founded the studio based on the conviction that there must be a better way to organise our environment. Jeroen has a strong interest in and affinity with urban design and research assignments, from building to city and regional scale, and broad practical experience based on concrete and complex design and research projects, for very different tasks, in different contexts. After years of partnership at MVRDV, Jeroen founded Studio for New Realities in 2018.
