Call for volunteers in the festival heart!
Rotterdam Architecture Month is looking for volunteers from the 1st to the 30th of June. Come join our team and sign up via our volunteer coordinator Maël van der Giesen using this form.
Last year, the pink stage on top of Nieuwe Instituut was a great success. This summer, the Rotterdam Architecture Month returns with another crowd puller: a floating festival in the Maashaven!
A park, urban sports venue and event location
The festival heart consists of three enormous floating containers. In one container, visitors can enjoy the greenery in a temporary park and immerse themselves in lectures, debates, films and other events. Another container is completely devoted to urban sports such as freerunning and calisthenics.
Theme: Liquid City
The theme of this year’s Rotterdam Architecture Month is Liquid City. Rotterdam is a port city on two river banks and therefore surrounded by and imbued with water. In the floating festival heart, abstract water and climate challenges come together in concrete urban solutions. With an outdoor exhibition, designers, architects and the municipality will show which innovative solutions are already being applied in the city. And what solutions are available to you to make the city more resilient to the consequences of climate change.
What are we looking for?
We need your help from the 1st to the 30th June 2023. As a volunteer you’ll aid with the programming in and around the festival heart, you help behind the bar, you assist at the information desk, you scan the tickets, you receive speakers and guide the audience.
What do you get in return?

- Coffee and drinks. If you work two shifts consecutively, we will provide you with a meal.
