Boijmans briefly reopens!

This summer, the heart of Rotterdam Architecture Month lands in Museumpark. In addition to an outdoor exhibition that runs straight through the greenery and interventions in the Rose Garden and the garden of Huis Sonneveld, there will be another special exhibition: ‘Snakken naar Boijmans’.

Especially for the RA Month, the building of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, which has been closed since 2019 for a large-scale renovation and renewal, will open to visitors for five weeks. Thanks to a specifically designed art route, you will be taken through the monumental building in a unique way.
Ticket sales for Snakken naar Boijmans start on May 1, 2024. For visitors it is a unique opportunity to visit the building: you have never seen it like this before and you will never see it like this again. The art route captures the visitor between echoes of the past and dreams of the future. Various interventions by artists bring the empty building to life. There will be additional programming, including a program for children.
In the Henket pavilion behind the museum, lectures, workshops, films and debates will take place, programmed by AIR – Architecture Institute Rotterdam in collaboration with many partners from the city. The route continues with a temporary bridge from the museum garden to an intervention in the Rose Garden and other special places in the Museumpark.

Practical information RA Month
When: the RA Month takes place from 1 to 30 June 2024. Longing for Boijmans will continue for a week longer.
Where: the festival heart is located in the Museum Park, but the entire programming consists of approximately 125 events spread over more than 40 locations.

Snakken naar Boijmans is currently pending a final agreement from the Rotterdam Safety Region. This means that any changes to the route and program can still take place!
