Cultural and historical tour through the Museum Garden | Gemeente Rotterdam

Heritage expert Korneel Arschman will provide a tour of the museum garden of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen on June 22 and 29. This garden starts behind the museum and continues to the G.J. the Jongh Monument. Korneel will tell you everything about the municipality’s research into what the original garden design looked like and which elements were added later, so that this can be included in the future renovation of this monumental garden.

What kind of (protected) animal and plant species live in the museum garden behind Boijmans Van Beuningen? Take a tour with city ecologist Iris Beijeman and learn all about the flora and fauna of this special and monumental part of Rotterdam. At the same time, you will learn how the municipality ensures that protected animal species have a home in the area during and after the planned renovation works and what is currently being done to maintain the living environment for the animals.

Guided tour through the Museumpark (EN)

Throughout the month of June, there are guided tours through the Museumpark several days a week with an English-speaking guide.

The guide takes you on a special route that leads you through the park via orange/yellow landmarks, past special interventions and exhibitions by a new generation of designers. The walking route connects cultural institutions, unique places and inspiring stories and takes you past architecture, nature and visual arts. Ofcourse the guide will tell you everything about the places you encounter!
