The Rotterdam Architecture Month has come to an end, but the experiment on the quay continues. With the Maaskijker by Observatorium and the Kadepodium, designed by Studio Architectuur MAKEN, we tested how temporary interventions can contribute to a lively, inviting public space. These installations are a first step in a broader placemaking process: how does this place become a sustainable meeting place for the city? The RA Month team looks back happily on a month full of diverse program and an enthusiastic audience. With more than 70 partners, there were more than 150 events this year at more than 50 different locations in and around Rotterdam.
