Recap: Open Office Day
On 20 June, the annual Open Office Day took place once again. Design offices across Rotterdam opened their doors and gave visitors a look behind the scenes.
Participating offices
This year, 31 offices took part, giving visitors plenty to choose from: from large to small, from established to young. The wide mix of expertise among the participating offices confirmed the diversity of Rotterdam’s design sector. The work of the many architects was on show in all kinds of forms: from office tours and large infographics to VR experiences and tables covered in material samples.

Seeking shade between the models
During the Open Office Day, temperatures climbed toward thirty degrees, but that did not stop visitors from making their way to their favourite offices. Caroline Bijvoet, for instance, welcomed a group of young architects from London who had come specifically to visit her studio in the former dry-cleaning building on the Mathenesserdijk, before continuing on to the offices in the Keilepand.
At the Van Vollenhovenstraat, at the Studio Playtime offices, a pleasant breeze was blowing, and visitors stumbled upon the work of studio tepe and the architectural photography of Rubén Dario Kleimeer. The Open Office Day wrapped up at the offices on the Damruststraat, where the Namelok team had transformed the street into a relaxed setting for the closing drinks, using reclaimed tent canvas stretched overhead.
